A dominant grappler with heavy hands, Gregor Gillespie remains one of the hottest prospects at 155lbs. A relative latecomer to MMA, ‘The Gift’ ran through each of his first 13 opponents with all but two of his victories going the distance. His run ended abruptly at the hands (well, foot) of Kevin Lee, marking Gillespie’s first professional defeat in his maiden fight against a top 10 ranked opponent. That step up in competition is perhaps now the question hanging over the number 12 ranked lightweight’s credentials, albeit with plenty of time to bounce back and resume his already impressive UFC career. The New Yorker has the talent and pressure grappling style to really make a mark on the promotion on his way to proving he is truly ‘The Gift’.
